Mice/Voles/Moles Etc.

If you find a small rodent that has been injured or caught by a cat/dog, please pick it (whilst wearing gloves) and place into a plastic box. Alternatively if you are not confident to handle it, place a towel over it. If you have the rodent in a box, give them something to hide under as it helps to reduce stress.
Once you have container the rodent, if the injuries require, please take it to a vet, if there injuries are minor please contact us.
Young Rodents
If you find a young rodent, which does have fur and its eyes are open, unless it has signs of injury or illness note where you saw it and monitor, do not touch them. The parents are likely nearby and will return. If their nest has been disturbed the parents will usually move them onto a new nest so monitor them for a while before seeking help.
If you find a young rodent without fur, with its eyes not yet open, it needs help, so please contact us.
Still need help?
Please remember we are a small voluntary service, we are not obliged to come and collect animals, indeed transport is our biggest drain on resource. We all work and have busy lives, and do what we do for the love of our wildlife. We will always do our best to help, sometimes it may not be what you feel is right, but with a wealth of experience, we give the advice we do for good reason. At no point will verbal of physical abuse be tolerated by any of our volunteers.
You can contact us on 07912 862 739.
If we do not answer, we may be busy with animals or on a rescue.
Please call again, we try but are not always able to return calls or voicemails.
Please Note: Our opening hours are 8am to 6pm daily, but closed on Wednesdays.
